It is our continuing commitment to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life for our workforce and their families, as well as, of the local community and society as a whole. CSR is more than an acronym, it's the way we do business. Over the years, Ken-Next has given to the local community through informal grants and donations, seed capital and philanthropy.
However, as part of our commitment to building the future, we have adopted a robust strategy that ensures our commitment to sustainability in the most efficient, effective and beneficial as it can be. Our giving has matured over the years through to focus fully on corporate philanthropy, value creation and sustainability. It is on these bases that we carefully select our projects and our partners.
At Ken-Next it's not just what we do that matters – it's how we get the job done. Delivering safe and reliable energy in a socially responsible manner makes good business sense. It's how we earn our social licence to operate and grow our business.
Our stakeholders have diverse issues, interests and backgrounds, and we strive to deal with them fairly and openly. We consult in various ways, including community forums, welcome feedback, track public complaints and follow up in a timely manner.
When Ken-Next operates on or near traditional lands of the Niger Delta people, considering that we are part of them, we seek their input and share economic benefits through employment opportunities, targeted training programmes and by supporting local businesses.
Ken-Next is committed to giving back to the communities where we operate. We do so through our corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, based on three elements:
By supporting our local communities, we empower individuals to engage in civic duties, business, government, arts, and education to enhance personal and community growth.
A greener workplace is our consistent goal and we meet this by the following:
ICT: Our staff have devised initiatives which help keep our workflows digital, reducing paper, waste and fuel usage annually. We invest in efficient systems to streamline office and site waste management.
We are instituting a “give back drive” where all replaced ICT equipment are refurbished and donated to local education charities. Over the coming years, we will invest in research measuring our environmental impact – waste, water, paper, and energy. These findings will form the blueprint for our sustainability policies in the coming decades.
Ken-Next facilities are clean and hazard-free, and employ the best safety management practices. As a sign of our commitment to safety we own several high-tech fire trucks to respond immediately in the event of a fire.
We are responsible stewards of the Earth. Accordingly, we educate and train all employees, contractors and visitors to comply with our HSE standards in order to protect the environment and their own health.
As a leader in the oil and gas industry, we're committed to stewardship of the environment. Our concern extends to safeguarding and developing our employees and other human capital, as well as building and supporting the communities who rely on us. Our staff are our most valuable assets as such, ensuring staff welfare at Ken-Next is paramount.
As a company we invest in the following:
Just as we aim to support our employees by giving them the tools they need and by maintaining a course of expansion that unlocks new career opportunities to which they can turn their expertise, we also embark on collaborations with the communities in which we operate, bringing economic prosperity and improving downstream oil and gas infrastructure.
